The Cindy and Dave Show!

The Cindy and Dave Show!

Cindy discusses her new love of reading the Wall Street Journal. Cindy explains that she did not realize how casual and social the reading of the WSJ can be, so we recommend reading the Wall Street Journal for lifestyle-goodreads. For example, their fashion category and look forward to The Great Gatsby remake with Leonardo Dicaprio and directed by Baz Luhrmann who is all about sensational story-telling. The fashion editorials of WSJ as of late have been center around the 1920s inspired by Gatsby. WSJ also includes amazing book reviews, especially for those coming out this summer; in particular (and for the foodies) Honey Olives and Octopus by Christopher Bacon. One article in the WSJ that really caught Cindy's eye was about Ray Kurzweil, a child-genius back in the 70s. In 1965 at age 17, Kurzweil demonstrated a home made computer he built to compose original music in the style of the great masters. Ray also went on to develop a robot that was on Jeopardy  which was able to take on human emotions and answer questions. Now, Kurzweil is the CEO of Google and he plans to take all of the Google materials and wikipedia, etc. and pattern it so it will be actually used for a computer to already know EVERYTHING.

Everybody should have a "go-to" in terms of cooking, Cindy's "go-to" is a mixture of onions and peppers sautéed in olive oil with crazy mixed up salt; add this to your food while it is on the stove. Cindy reminds us of Lemony Snicket, informing us that the foodie-writer's favorite spice to use while cooking is pimenton de la vera; Dave prefers to use the smokey Hungarian paprika... try out these spices yourself!
